Job Description

Operations Manager - American SentinelPosition Overview American Sentinel is seeking a hands-on, organized, and technically skilled Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operational activities related to order processing, production coordination, inventory management, and technical support. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all incoming orders are processed accurately, completed on time, and shipped correctly while also supervising and assisting a small crew responsible for assembling surveillance trailers, watch boxes and solar pole-mounted solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in operations, solar-powered systems, IP networking, and field installations. This position requires both office coordination and hands-on technical involvement. Key Responsibilities Operations & Order Management Oversee all incoming customer orders from receipt through final shipment. Ensure orders are processed accurately, completed in full, and shipped on schedule. Coordinate daily workflow between sales, procurement, warehouse, and production teams. Track project timelines, prioritize production schedules, and resolve operational bottlenecks. Maintain organized operational records and ensure accuracy of inventory and order documentation. Assist in improving efficiency, accountability, and workflow processes throughout operations. Inventory & Procurement Coordination Coordinate with procurement to request inventory, materials, and components needed for production and customer orders. Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages before they impact production or deliveries. Maintain organization and accuracy within warehouse and inventory areas. Help establish inventory control procedures and material tracking systems. Production & Assembly Leadership Lead and supervise a small crew of installers and assembly technicians. Oversee assembly of surveillance watch boxes, solar trailers, and pole-mounted solar solutions. Ensure products are assembled according to company standards and quality expectations. Assist with hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and field preparation when needed. Maintain safe and efficient use of tools, equipment, and workspace areas. Technical & Solar System Responsibilities Understand solar-powered electrical systems including: Solar panels Batteries Charge controllers Inverters Power distribution DC electrical systems Low-voltage wiring Troubleshoot basic electrical, solar, and system integration issues. Verify systems are assembled and configured properly before shipment or deployment. Networking & Technical Support Possess basic to intermediate IP networking knowledge. Have experience with IP camera systems, surveillance equipment, or related technologies. Assist customers over the phone with troubleshooting and technical support when needed. Support configuration and setup of network-connected surveillance equipment. Coordinate with technical staff to resolve customer issues efficiently. Leadership & Communication Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to the operations and installation team. Train and support team members on assembly procedures, safety practices, and technical standards. Maintain clear communication between departments to ensure smooth execution of projects and orders. Promote a positive, solution-oriented, and team-focused work environment. Qualifications Previous experience in operations management, warehouse operations, production management, or technical field operations. Experience supervising installers, technicians, or assembly personnel. Strong understanding of solar electrical systems and related components. Experience with IP networking and/or IP camera installations. Hands-on experience using power tools and working in a production or installation environment. Ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues efficiently. Comfortable working with computers, inventory systems, spreadsheets, and operational software. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. Forklift experience is a plus. Experience in solar, surveillance, security, or low-voltage industries is highly preferred. Preferred Skills Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Familiarity with surveillance systems and remote monitoring technologies. Inventory and logistics coordination experience. Technical customer support experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and ERP/order management systems. Leadership mindset with a proactive and hands-on attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment and materials as needed. Comfortable working in warehouse, shop, and outdoor environments. Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and use power tools for extended periods.
Pay:
$60,000.00 per year
