Surgery Scheduler / Insurance Specialist Join our fast-paced and innovative team at PRMA! We are seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy individual to coordinate surgical procedures, manage pre-authorizations, and ensure smooth operations between patients, surgeons, and hospitals. This critical role requires excellent communication, patience, and adaptability, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, insurance verification, and appointment coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage pre-operative and surgical appointments, ensuring seamless scheduling with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and hospitals. Handle insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and update records in EMR and other systems. Maintain accurate schedules for physicians, monitor surgical flows, reschedule as needed for efficiency, and ensure compliance with surgical protocols. Collaborate with the team on patient scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups. Update EMR and surgery scheduling system with appointments, codes, and authorization details. Support training for new employees and cross-train within the department. Requirements Excellent organization, communication, and technical skills are essential for this fast-paced role. Proven experience in a medical scheduling role or similar position is preferred. Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism. Proficiency in using scheduling software and electronic health record systems.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required) Knowledge of insurance procedures (required) 1-2 years scheduling experience (preferred) Experience with systems such as ModMed and Surgimate (preferred)
