Job Title:
Master Production Scheduler Job Summary The Master Production Scheduler creates and manages the master production schedule (MPS) for our Engineer-to-Order (ETO) padmount transformer product lines. Operating within NetSuite ERP, this role translates custom engineering designs into actionable production and material plans. The ideal candidate balances individual utility specification requirements against shop-floor constraints. Key focus areas include tank fabrication, multi-phase winding, fluid-filling cycles, and high-voltage testing bay capacity.
Core Responsibilities ETO Scheduling & Capacity Optimization:
Build realistic master production schedules for single-phase and three-phase padmount transformers in NetSuite. Coordinate with Engineering to ensure custom electrical and mechanical designs are finalized before release. Map production schedules against critical shop-floor constraints, including tank welding and paint booths. Manage scheduling bottlenecks at the fluid-filling stations (mineral oil or bio-degradable ester fluid).
NetSuite ERP & Material Alignment:
Maintain NetSuite MRP parameters to trigger timely procurement of custom-engineered components. Track long-lead ETO components including specific high/low voltage bushings, switches, fuses, and gauges. Monitor raw material levels for core steel, copper/aluminum magnet wire, and structural steel. Cross-Functional Communication Lead weekly S&OP alignment meetings with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Production Supervisors. Provide Sales and Project Managers with accurate Lead Times and Promise dates. Coordinate final quality inspections and customer-witnessed testing windows without creating line bottlenecks. Collaborate with Logistics to sync completion dates with specialized freight or flatbed shipping availability.
Performance Analysis:
Own key performance indicators including Schedule Attainment, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and NetSuite data accuracy. Analyze variances between scheduled build times and actual shop-floor execution to refine routing templates.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
3+ years of scheduling experience in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
Industry Knowledge:
Direct experience with pad mount or distribution transformers is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience using NetSuite ERP for manufacturing scheduling and material planning.
Key Competencies:
Data Integrity:
Strict attention to detail when managing complex, custom Bills of Materials (BOMs) in NetSuite.
Agility:
Ability to re-sequence production efficiently when custom engineering changes occur mid-cycle.
