Position Description:
The administrative assistant will work directly with the president of the company to maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the office, manage patient chart information, make and answer phone calls, schedule patient appointments, enter patient information into patient management software, collect payments and perform other office duties that include, but are not limited to filing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing and collecting payments.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients in a friendly manner. Answer, screen, and direct phone calls. Schedule patient appointments. Intake and/or verify patient information in patient management software. Collect all information necessary to work with insurance claims and patient billing. Perform clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, transcribing, faxing, and managing company social media. Collect patient payments. Make follow-up calls to patients. Communicate with other medical offices and facilities. Maintain patient confidentiality. Meet deadlines. Work as part of a team to provide excellent patient care. Assist co-workers as needed. Other duties as necessary. Work well independently and with a team of 6-8 people.
Requirements:
Must be friendly and caring, professional in dress and attitude, inquisitive and willing to learn. Possess strong organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) and able to learn to navigate patient management software, and other software as needed. Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and verbal directions. Work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to handle correction in a professional manner. Type at least 40 words per minute with high accuracy. Must have reliable transportation and be able to reliably work the posted hours. Some medical terminology knowledge would be beneficial.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required. Associate Degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
