Job Description

Responsible for initiating and answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments times and dates for exams and procedures. Triages phone calls as necessary. Conducts patient pre-certification and obtains all required patient demographic information to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of healthcare related experience. Previous medical scheduling preferred with understanding medical terminology.
Experience:
Prefer one year experience in hospital of clinic setting. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and possess skills in working with the public in a customer service environment. Must be detail oriented and have problem solving skills. Requires strong telephone communication skills. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. Must have demonstrated communication skills and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. Must have previous computer experience and type accurately.
