Director of Operations Position Overview The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily and long-term scheduling of field technicians across all ACOM service lines, including VoIP, security cameras, access control, and low-voltage cabling. This role ensures that the right technicians are assigned to the right jobs at the right time, while maintaining clear communication with customers and internal teams. The Scheduler plays a critical role in operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and revenue flow by ensuring jobs are completed on schedule and properly transitioned to billing. Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling & Dispatch
  • Build and maintain daily, weekly, and project-based schedules for Field Operations
  • Assign technicians to jobs based on skillset, availability, location, and project requirements
  • Optimize technician routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Adjust schedules in real-time to account for delays, emergencies, or changing priorities Customer Coordination
  • Communicate with customers to confirm appointment dates, times, and site readiness
  • Provide customers with accurate technician arrival windows
  • Notify customers of schedule changes or delays in a timely and professional manner
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries Internal Coordination
  • Work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Field Operations to ensure accurate job scheduling
  • Review approved estimates and Statements of Work (SOW) to understand job scope and requirements
  • Confirm that all prerequisites (materials, access, documentation) are in place prior to scheduling
  • Coordinate multi-day and multi-phase projects across teams Job Completion & Billing Handoff
  • Track job progress and confirm completion with Field Technicians
  • Ensure all required documentation (photos, notes, completion details) is submitted
  • Communicate completed jobs to the appropriate internal team for billing initiation
  • Flag any discrepancies, change orders, or incomplete work prior to billing System Management
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records within ACOM's field service management platform (e.g., Housecall Pro)
  • Update job statuses, technician assignments, and scheduling notes in real time
  • Generate scheduling reports and provide visibility into workload and capacity Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of scheduling, dispatch, or operations coordination experience (service industry preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both customer-facing and internal)
  • Proficiency with scheduling or field service software (e.g., Housecall Pro or similar platforms)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of low-voltage systems (VoIP, cameras, access control, cabling) preferred but not required Core Competencies
