Position Statement The Primary Care Scheduler cordially and efficiently receives patient phone calls to ascertain and manage the patient's needs while maintaining provider's schedules in an effective manner.Key Responsibilities:
Answers telephones, takes, and relays accurate messages via electronic health record system, and complies with requests according to established policies and procedures. Performs call confirmations for appointments. Updates schedules, books appointments, and coordinates appointments with other disciplines as needed. Reviews "no shows" and "missed appointments" and notifies patients by phone and/or letter. Calls patients to reschedule any missed appointments. Manages patients' requests for immunizations, and med lists, etc. Inputs non-clinical data at the request of nursing staff and manager. Sends outgoing faxes and distributes incoming faxes and mail. Assists with patient mailings and prepares outgoing mail. Prepare normal lab and x-ray result letters to patients.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma required. Possesses excellent organizational skills paired with verbal written and communication skills. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with all staff. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Shows competency in computer skills.
