Chippewa Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (CVOSM) Altoona, Wisconsin Join a Team That Supports Patients Through Every Step of Their Surgical Journey Chippewa Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team and support the coordination of surgical procedures and related pre-operative activities. This role plays an important part in supporting efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, revenue-cycle coordination, and a positive patient experience. You will serve as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and internal teams, helping ensure each step of the surgical scheduling process is organized, informed, and well supported. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and strong communication. What You'll Do Surgical Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate surgical procedures by collaborating with patients, surgeons, and operating room staff to confirm availability and schedule surgeries Assist with scheduling related appointments, tests, consultations, and other pre-operative requirements needed to support timely surgical preparation Ensure scheduled procedures are supported by complete and accurate patient demographic, insurance, and procedure information to facilitate scheduling, authorization, and subsequent billing processes Patient Communication & Service Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding surgery scheduling, insurance requirements, and related coordination needs including pre-operative instructions Communicate professionally and clearly with patients, providers, and staff to support an organized scheduling process and positive patient experience Support patients by completing required forms, obtaining medical clearances, and helping them understand next steps related to their scheduled procedure and coverage requirements Documentation, Authorization & Compliance Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries, including patient information, procedure details, and any special requirements Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures in accordance with payer requirements and organizational processes Coordinate with clinical, scheduling, and billing/coding staff as needed to resolve payer, authorization, or documentation issues while supporting compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements Why CVOSM?
