Consumer Services Office Location:
900 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302 The Consumer Services unit of the Property & Casualty division can help consumers with questions and concerns for their automobile, homeowners, motorcycle, boat, pet, commercial property, commercial general liability and workers' compensation insurance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties: Reception and Communication Manages the WV Offices of the Insurance Commissioner's main telephone line by screening calls, taking messages, providing general information, and transferring inquiries to the appropriate divisions. Serves as the receptionist for the 7 th floor of the WV Lottery Building, screening all walk-in visitors and connecting them with relevant OIC staff. Mail and Documentation Receive, sort, and distribute all incoming mail. Scan consumer related correspondence for the Consumer Services Analysts. Administrative Support Track office supply inventory and process orders for the 7 th floor staff. Provide general office support to the Property & Casualty's other administrative staff. General Office Duties Schedule appointments for consumers to meet with Insurance Complaints Specialists. Will perform other duties as assigned. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be beneficial to the selected candidate: The ideal candidate must be proficient in general office duties and knowledgeable in the use of both Microsoft and Google products. AND Entry-level:
No experience; training provided.
Intermediate-level:
At least 1 year of experience in administrative or clerical support.
Advanced-level:
At least 3 years of progressively responsible office experience, including independent decision-making or lead work responsibilities.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Google Suite, email platforms). Ability to operate office equipment (e.g., phones, copiers, scanners). Familiarity with database systems and digital recordkeeping is a plus.
Work Environment:
Typical office setting with regular use of computers and telephones. May require occasional lifting of files or supplies up to 25 pounds.
