Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Duties Receive incoming shipments by safely operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to unload trucks efficiently. Verify shipment accuracy using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software to ensure correct items are received or shipped. Prepare outgoing orders by picking items with order pickers, packing them securely, and labeling for delivery. Manage stock levels through accurate stocking, inventory updates in MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, and regular cycle counts. Load and unload trucks with attention to safety protocols, ensuring proper handling of pallets and fragile goods. Maintain organized storage areas by stacking pallets correctly and utilizing warehouse distribution best practices. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as pallet jacks and reach trucks to ensure safe operation. Assist with order fulfillment processes for e-commerce platforms by picking, packing, and preparing shipments for dispatch. Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately. Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with team members to meet daily shipping deadlines. Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with general inquiries Provide basic customer service support in-store and over the phone Pull parts and materials for upcoming installation jobs Call customers to schedule installation appointments and confirm details Assist with inventory counts and tracking as needed Experience Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in shipping & receiving procedures. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities during stock checks or order picking. Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy loads safely and standing for extended periods. Experience with order fulfillment in e-commerce or distribution centers is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy in stock management and shipment processing.
