Job Description Packing and Shipping Clerk Description of Responsibilities The Packing and Shipping Clerk role requires strong relationships with the operations teams to act as a conduit for effective execution of new orders and implementation of custom customer solutions. Director of Pharmacy Operations Scope of Supervision None Responsibilities of the Packing and Shipping Clerk include the following: Processing of all incoming and outgoing deliveries. Accurately input all medications into the pharmacy system and store them in the designated areas. All other items are documented and directed to their proper locations. Coordinating with the drivers, drug inventory, packaging and delivery of medications. Contacts and interacts with patients, sales team, and pharmacy personnel to ensure timely delivery of appropriate medications. Act as the liaison between pharmacists, patients, sales team, and internal staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner. Duties are to unload pallets, replenish shipping materials, and to maintain a clean work environment. Provides team support (ETA's, status of inventory, orders in process, etc.) to PCCs and designated drivers to ensure a successful delivery. Log and document all unsuccessful shipping occurrences or forward to the Logistics Manager Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers, and peers. Work collaboratively with internal staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer. Additional tasks as required by management. Qualifications and Preferred Skills Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail. Candidates should have a working knowledge of pharmacy applications. Knowledge of medical terminology Data entry skills required. The employee is required to use hands to operate office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
