Job Description

Adecco is assisting their client in Whittier, CA hire for a Shipping Clerk A Shipping Clerk is detailed-oriented, responsible for managing shipment procedures and handling the tasks of shipping, preparing, and approving them for delivery. Among the duties of a Shipping Clerk also involve processing orders and ensuring all details are accurate, producing the necessary labels and receipts, weighing, and examining packages, this position also uses an ERP system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages the shipment of all products.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business documents such as pick tickets, packing slips, bills of lading and governmental regulations.
  • Collaborates and communicates with Customer Service and Project Coordinators.
  • Responsible for shipping customer orders out on time all the times.
  • Responsible for helping and managing shipping warehouse inventories.
  • Housekeeping always maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Help and support production as required with ordering pallets, boxes, tape for daily or weekly shipments.
  • Responsible for the
FED-EX/UPS
world ship program.
  • Process orders into finished goods when orders are completed.
  • Process and close out Customer Orders (Greens). Submit greens on time (daily basis).
  • Help and support other departments in slow times (Assembly).
Required Skills:
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, as many packages are large.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing.
  • Experience with software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to learn the appropriate applications in the business ERP system (SyteLine).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse (Not my job mentality is not acceptable).
  • Experience using a forklift is required. Russ Bassett mandates re-certification by company-approved trainers.
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Willing to work in other departments when shipping has a low workload.
  • Exceptional attendance is required (Dependability).
  • A high school qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
