POSITION SUMMARY
Shipping/Receiving Technicians work in a fast-paced environment that fosters teamwork and ensures the timely receipt and delivery of high-quality products from vendors and customers around the world. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Shipping and Receiving Technician to join our team. The ability to communicate with all team members within a manufacturing environment and with shipping carriers is imperative; as well as a keen attention to detail, a high level of inventory accuracy using manufacturing and shipping programs, and a strong commitment to the on-time delivery of our products. You must have previous experience in parcel shipping to be considered for this job.
JOB DUTIES
The Shipping and Receiving Technician position is responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: All packaging, receiving and shipping functions for international and domestic orders The use of shipping and receiving tools/devices, including computer, scanner, printer, scale, and tape dispenser Handling, packaging, and storing parts as needed Verification of product to be packaged per quantity and information on Pick Tickets Verification of product to be received per quantity and information on the Receiving Tickets Conversion of Pick Tickets to Packing Slips using IQMS systems Double checking shipping documentation for accuracy (i.e., correct address, shipping method, etc.) Rectify inaccurate labels and documentation Communication with Sales personnel to ensure all shipping requirements are met Sweeping, moping, and general housekeeping of work area This position regularly requires lifting of items over 40 pounds throughout the workday, prolonged periods (up to 8 hours) of standing/sitting, and repetitive loading/unloading motions including twisting and bending.
EXPERIENCE
Education, Training and Expectations High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of shipping experience in a warehouse environment. Experience with FEDEX Manager and UPS World Ship. Working knowledge of both standard and special shipping and receiving practices and paperwork for the major parcel shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, etc.). Working knowledge of international shipping and receiving practices, including commercial invoicing and customs compliance Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office programs and common programs for printing labels, as well as the ability to learn our ERP software. Able to accurately read/follow written instructions & perform simple mathematical calculations. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team. Strong attention to detail. The ability to multitask. Completes the training that qualifies the individual to perform the duties of operating the machines, equipment, and the use of the necessary materials. Utilizes the appropriate personal communication and interaction skills required to work with others in a team-based environment to achieve team and company goals.
