Shipping Specialist

POSITION TITLE

SHIPPING

SPECIALIST POSITION SUMMARY

Primary focus of this position will be to wrap and package production parts, prepare paperwork and labels, and wrap skids for outgoing shipments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The ideal candidate will have mastered and be able to demonstrate the following skills showing the following abilities: Identifies information required to ship products, and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments Determines method of shipment, utilizing computer ship list Affixes shipping labels and packing lists on packed cartons Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers Wraps parts appropriately and packages into containers (tubes, boxes, skids and/or gaylords), using appropriate protective padding; posts weight on container, and fills-out shipping documentation as required May operate lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping or receiving area to storage or work area; on occasion, drive forklift (preferred, not required) May mark part numbers on product May arrange shipping pick-ups and deliveries with UPS, FEDEX, other outside freight carriers or international consolidators Work well with others and be a team player; desire to constantly learn and improve their skills

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion to move parts Must be Quality and Safety-Oriented The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws. This is a full-time position and EMP's compensation package offers competitive hourly wages dependent on skill level and experience, health insurance plan that includes major medical and dental, 401k plan, and holidays and vacation.
