The University of Miami's UMIT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Shipping & Receiving Clerk in Coral Gables, Florida. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk assembles and prepares items for shipment and receives incoming shipments. The incumbent maintains detailed reports of items received, and deliveries and distributions made.Core Responsibilities:
Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability. Unpacks materials and supplies and ensures accuracy. Makes delivery of items received to appropriate location or department. Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes. Retrieves surplus equipment or supplies. Requests product return authorizations and processes required documents. Tracks orders and enters information regarding order and delivery details into appropriate database. Responds to inquiries and concerns regarding ordered items. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Department Specific Functions:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk performs IT data entry, document scanning, and procurement related activities. He/she is responsible for receiving orders, documenting deliveries, and product distribution to requesting departments at all UM campuses and remote facilities. Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for receiving and delivering information technology products to departments at all UM campuses and remote facilities: Coordinate and schedule delivery with the requesting department. Document in Workflow Management Systems. Receive shipments and inspect orders for accuracy. Record the shipment and prepare products for delivery. Receive hard drives from surplus equipment, document hard drive information, and degauss hard drives.Provides general order processing support:
Scan documents into work order management/tracking system. Document user issues and provide support. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required Must have general knowledge and understanding of computer hardware, software, and peripherals and have experience with product distribution.Learning Agility:
Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.Communication:
Verbal and written English, strong communication, organizational and customer service skills are essential to fulfill the requirements of the position.
