Shipping Picker Job Description The Shipping Picker supports daily shipping operations by accurately picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for outbound shipment. This role works in a fast-paced, climate-controlled environment and involves regular physical activity, including moving materials and assisting with loading trucks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable using basic computer systems, and committed to maintaining high quality and accuracy in all shipping tasks. Responsibilities Pick parts and materials for customer orders based on instructions provided through the computer system. Use RF scanners and data entry tools to locate, verify, and record items accurately. Pack items securely into boxes to ensure safe and damage-free shipment. Label packages correctly according to shipping and carrier requirements. Verify order accuracy and completeness before shipment to maintain quality standards. Assist with loading trucks and moving materials within the shipping and receiving area as needed. Support general shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and receiving product. Operate basic material handling equipment, such as forklifts, when qualified and required. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations. Essential Skills Experience with packing, picking, and order picking in a warehouse or shipping environment. Demonstrated ability to perform picking and packing tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to use a computer for basic data entry and order processing. Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Ability to use an RF scanner for locating and verifying inventory. Capability to load product onto trucks safely and efficiently. Experience with loading, unloading, and receiving materials. Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn, if required for the role. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with physical activity throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or distribution role. Familiarity with basic warehouse management or shipping software. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and labeling. Reliability and strong attendance to support daily shipping schedules. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a production environment. Why Work Here? The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with no specific dress code stated beyond appropriate attire for a warehouse and production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
