Overview We are seeking a Shipper / Receiver for a U.S.-based precision manufacturing company serving industrial, aerospace, defense, and commercial markets. This role is responsible for accurate shipping, receiving, packaging, documentation, ERP/inventory transactions, and material movement in a regulated manufacturing environment. The Shipper / Receiver handles high-value, fragile components, raw materials, outsourced parts, supplies, and customer returns. Accuracy in this role directly impacts customer satisfaction, inventory integrity, invoicing readiness, traceability, export compliance, and production flow. Essential Responsibilities Pick, pack, label, stage, and ship finished goods using proper protective packaging for fragile, high-value components. Process shipments that have been properly released with complete documentation and required approvals. Verify part numbers, quantities, customer requirements, lot traceability, and shipment documentation before release. Prepare and process packing slips, bills of lading, certificates of conformance, carrier documents, and related shipment paperwork according to approved procedures. Process shipments through UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL, freight, and other approved carriers. Coordinate carrier pickups and escalate shipment delays, carrier issues, or documentation problems promptly. Enter shipment transactions in the ERP/inventory system and verify records match physical shipments. Receive incoming raw materials, outsourced components, supplies, tools, and customer returns. Verify received items against purchase orders, packing lists, quantities, visible condition, and required documentation. Route items requiring inspection, quality review, or acceptance to the appropriate internal owner. Identify and report receiving discrepancies, damaged materials, missing documentation, or questionable items. Support RMA receiving by logging returns, documenting condition, and routing items for review. Maintain organized shipping, receiving, staging, and storage areas in accordance with 5S expectations. Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory discrepancy review as assigned. Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other approved material-handling equipment only when trained and authorized. Follow all posted safety, PPE, export control, quality, traceability, and material-handling requirements. Qualifications & Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, logistics, or manufacturing support preferred. Ability to read and follow packing lists, purchase orders, shipping documents, part labels, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and ability to verify part numbers, quantities, documentation, and physical condition accurately. Ability to handle fragile, high-value components with care and consistency. Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities. Ability to follow safety, PPE, quality, traceability, export control, and material-handling requirements. Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and stage materials as required, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing, ISO-certified, ITAR-regulated, aerospace, defense, optical, or precision manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory, or warehouse management systems. Experience using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, LTL/freight portals, or similar shipping software. Experience handling fragile, custom, high-value, or precision components. Familiarity with certificates of conformance, lot traceability, export documentation, RMAs, and controlled documentation. Forklift certification or prior forklift/pallet jack experience. Work Environment / Physical Requirements This is a full-time, on-site role at a Sarasota, FL manufacturing facility. The role requires regular work in shipping, receiving, warehouse, staging, and production-adjacent areas. The employee may spend the workday standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, packaging, staging materials, using shipping systems, and operating approved material-handling equipment. The employee must follow all posted safety, PPE, handling, quality, export control, and facility procedures.
