This role is based on the shipping and receiving dock and focuses on coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, verifying documentation, and ensuring materials are routed to the correct internal locations. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk works closely with freight carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to support smooth daily operations and on-time delivery.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive and inspect customer units, ensuring all documentation is accurate and matches the unit received Prepare shipments by verifying documentation, packaging units, and coordinating with freight companies for delivery to customers Oversee orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to meet operational needs Receive parts from approved vendors and verify compliance with purchase order requirements (part number, description, quantities, and traceability) Assign and distribute received parts to designated storage locations Pull parts for work orders and sales orders as required Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and maintain minimum acceptable levels of non-stock items such as chemicals and consumables Manage minimum and maximum stock levels to support operational efficiency Ensure proper preservation and storage of all materials, parts, and supplies Follow up on units in progress, provide required parts, and support turnaround times by checking pending work orders and sourcing alternate part numbers when necessary Manage the shelf-life list and update it upon receipt of perishable items Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in a shipping and receiving or warehouse logistics role. Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dock/warehouse environment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple shipments and priorities. Effective communication skills for interacting with carriers, vendors, and internal teams. Basic to intermediate proficiency in Quantum (or similar ERP/WMS) and Microsoft Office. Understanding of shipping methods, freight terms, and common logistics documentation (BOL, packing lists, labels). Ability to perform in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Commitment to safety and proper handling of materials.
