Job Description

SUMMARY Swanton Welding is currently accepting internal applications for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk at our South Location in Griffin, GA . This position is responsible for the full operation of the shipping and receiving department within a metal fabrication environment, ensuring accurate documentation, handling, and movement of materials and finished products ranging from small fabricated parts to large steel assemblies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain full responsibility for all inbound and outbound shipments, including verification, documentation, and organization. Prepare and process bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping paperwork . Inspect incoming materials for accuracy and condition; report discrepancies promptly. Package, wrap, and secure fabricated products of varying sizes for shipment per company and customer specifications. Build custom shipping crates, skids, or containers for large or irregularly shaped metal fabrications. Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries ; communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments. Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely. Support inventory control activities and perform cycle counts as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety and PPE standards
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organizational and documentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) . Ability to interpret work orders and shipping instructions . Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Forklift experience required; certification preferred. Mechanical aptitude for crate and packaging fabrication. Prior experience in shipping and receiving within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment preferred. Ability to lift 5075 lbs frequently and work in a warehouse or shop environment.
Offered compensation:
