Job Description
The Warehouse Operator supports daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in transposing numbers and letters, clear penmanship, and the ability to work effectively within a team. New hires complete foundational training before operating any powered equipment. Key Responsibilities Material Handling & Order Fulfillment Receive, sort, and store incoming materials according to company procedures. Pick and pack customer orders accurately using pick lists, labels, and RF scanners. Prepare shipments, stage pallets, and assist with loading and unloading trucks. Maintain proper rotation of inventory and report discrepancies immediately. Documentation & Accuracy Accurately transpose numbers and letters when reading, writing or entering product codes. Complete logs, checklists, and inventory forms with clear, legible penmanship . Verify product counts, lot numbers, and labels to ensure order accuracy. Follow all written instructions, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Teamwork & Communication Collaborate with coworkers, leads, and supervisors to meet daily goals. Communicate clearly about inventory issues, delays, or safety concerns. Assist team members when workload shifts or priorities change. Participate in meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities. Training Requirements New hires will not operate forklifts or powered industrial equipment until all required training is completed. Training duration varies based on prior experience and demonstrated competency. Required training before equipment operation includes: Transposing numbers and letters accurately Order picking, labeling, and scanning Warehouse layout and product location understanding Safe manual material-handling practices Demonstrating consistent accuracy and attention to detail During this period, new hires will spend the majority of the day standing, walking, bending, and reaching , as they will be performing manual tasks until fully certified. Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM ( The warehouse operates on one shift only) . Extended Hours Although the standard shift ends at 4:30 PM, employees are required to stay beyond 4:30 PM when business needs demand it , including completing daily workload, supporting shipping deadlines, or resolving operational backlogs. Month-End Requirements The last workweek of each month is consistently the busiest period. To meet company sales goals and complete physical inventory, employees are required to work extended shifts of 10-12 hours during this time. Occasional Saturday Work Saturday work is rare , but may be required when: The last day of the month falls on a weekend Production operations run 7 days a week across 3 shifts and require warehouse support Month-end volume or inventory demands additional coverage Employees are expected to maintain flexibility and reliability during these peak periods. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift. Lift, carry, push, and pull items typically ranging from 5-10 lbs. Work in varying temperatures depending on warehouse environment. Skills & Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good penmanship for completing written documentation. Ability to read and interpret labels and written instructions. Basic scanner proficiency (RF scanners). Reliable attendance and punctuality. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional Expectations Follow all company safety rules, policies, grooming standards, and quality requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and integrity in all interactions with coworkers, supervisors, and visitors. Adapt to changing priorities, workflow demands, and operational needs. Appearance & Dress Code Requirements No loose jewelry of any kind while working in the warehouse. No sagging pants, No shorts, No ripped, torn, or cut jeans/pants. No hoodies are permitted in the warehouse. Clothing must be clean, professional, and appropriate for a safety-sensitive environment. Closed-toe, non-slip footwear is required. Electronics Policy No cell phones or personal electronic devices are allowed on the production or warehouse floor. Devices must be stored in designated areas and may only be used during approved break times
