Job Description

Georgia Expo is seeking a qualified Receiving Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and strong work ethic that is ready to work for a great company! In this position, you will be responsible for receiving shipments, processing receipt paperwork, maintaining inventory, and material handling as needed.
Areas of Responsibility:
Safety Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in Receiving Department. Inspect all equipment used in the Department prior to use. Equipment includes Forklift, Scissor Lift, Pallet Wrapper, and Box Truck. Inspection checklists must be completed on a daily basis and submitted to Plant Manager. Assist with the loading and unloading of materials from our Box Truck. Any unsafe activity should be ceased immediately, reported to the Plant Manager or Human Resources immediately. Safely operate forklift to transport materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse to their proper inventory locations. Receiving/Shipping Ensure our Company receives only what we have paid for, and/or authorized based on what is listed on Purchase Orders, Packing Lists, and Returned Good Authorizations. Follow our Returned Goods Authorization process as defined by our Returned Goods Authorization Policy. Communicate with our Purchasing Department to determine what type of materials have been ordered, the quantity we are expecting, and the expected date of arrival. Prepare warehouse in advance for all incoming materials. Create space in the shelves of our inventory to safely store the new materials in an organized fashion. Inspect every inbound shipment, and note any damages or discrepancies on the Bill of Lading before signing. All damages or discrepancies should be reported to our Purchasing Department for immediate correction. After the shipment has been received, verify that the quantity in the packaging matches the quantities listed on the packaging and Purchase Order. Discrepancies should be reported to our Purchasing Department for immediate correction. Maintain overall status and control of physical inventory within our warehouse. Assist Shipping Department as needed or directed by Management. Inventory Obtain daily production records from our Booth Department, and communicate those numbers to our Accounting and Purchasing Departments to be entered into our inventory management system (MAS). Clearly label all materials and products within our warehouse inventory using our color coding and labeling system. Quality inspect, count, and label all finished goods after they are produced by our Booth Department. Move products to their specified locations after they have been labeled, and recorded for inventory. Organize fabrics by dye lot, and report quantities to Purchasing via e-mail. Conduct accurate and comprehensive Cycle Counts on an efficient schedule determined by Purchasing. Report all updated inventory counts to our Purchasing and Accounting Departments via e-mail to be entered into our inventory management system (MAS). Responsible for any and all other duties assigned to them by management.
Skill Requirements:

  • Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills needed.
  • Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • 1-2 years' experience in manufacturing or production environment preferably in a Receiving and/or Inventory role.
  • High school diploma or higher preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
