Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse team. Responsibilities Manage the receipt of incoming shipments by verifying delivery contents against purchase orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS). Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment using picking & packing techniques aligned with customer specifications. Utilize RF scanners and AS400 systems to track inventory movements and update stock levels in real-time. Ensure proper stocking procedures are followed to optimize warehouse space and facilitate efficient order picking. Coordinate with warehouse distribution teams to load trucks safely and efficiently for outbound shipments. Maintain detailed records of all shipping & receiving activities, including inbound/outbound logs, incident reports, and inventory adjustments. Support inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software. Assist with packaging tasks to ensure products are protected during transit while adhering to safety standards. Follow safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or damage to goods or equipment. Experience Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers; forklift certification is preferred. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and RF scanners. Strong understanding of warehouse distribution principles, order fulfillment procedures, and inventory control practices. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Experience supporting e-commerce order picking, packing, and shipping workflows is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety standards related to material handling equipment like MRPs (Material Resource Planning) tools is a plus.
