Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports to: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor Prepared by: Human Resources Approved by: CFO Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the loading and unloading of all incoming and outgoing materials, accurately recording weight, creating accurate labels, preparing all necessary paperwork, and probing and inspecting materials for quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Unload and loads trucks by using a sit-down propane forklift. Manage receiving log. Inspect all incoming materials. Make press plates of material and submit samples to the Chicago Lab. Neatly organize and stage material in the warehouse by following the requirements set forth by the Plant Manager. This includes aligning pallets, super sacks, and baled bumpers within the designated lines. Keep isles and walking paths clear of material. Accurately complete receiving and shipping reports and submit them to accounting in a timely manner. Accurately label incoming materials and any item that has a classification change. Accurately perform inventory and adjustments as required. Maintain a clean work environment. Backfills in Grinding when needed. Must attend all training sessions as required. Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the support of business and process improvements. Other duties as assigned, including general housekeeping.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong math skills. Strong understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices. Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records and inventory. Must have reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2 or more years of experience in a related field required. 2 or more years of sit-down propane forklift experience required.
Work Environment:
This job operates inside a warehouse/dock area where the temperature may vary.
Physical Demands :
Prolonged periods of standing and sitting per shift. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to maneuver the facility on unforgiving surfaces. Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises and odors. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vest, hard hat, steel toe shoes, gloves, and other job-specific required PPE.
