Hurley Company is seeking an experienced material handler for our Readville, MA location.
Primary responsibilities include:
receiving orders, order processing, assisting customer pick-ups, preparing outbound shipments, inventory and cycle counting, and processing returned material. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, work ethic and meticulous attention to detail. Responsibilities Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with inventory control manager to rectify damages and shortages Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit. Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Follow established department policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and environmental standards. Education Experience High school diploma or equivalent Two years of relevant shipping experience Skills/Abilities/Competencies Organizational Skills PC proficient Initiative Thoroughness Time Management Excellent communication ( written and verbal) Physical Requirements Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, and bending. Ability to consistently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. throughout the day Valid driver's license required. We offer competitive wages and benefits.
