Job Title:
Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Specialist Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Specialist oversees inbound and outbound shipments, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role combines hands-on material handling and packaging with data entry in SAP and Excel to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient movement of goods. Responsibilities Coordinate and perform all shipping and receiving activities within the warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound orders. Use SAP and Excel to schedule, track, and receive deliveries, maintaining accurate records and documentation for all shipments. Manage daily FedEx and UPS shipments, including preparing packages, generating labels, and confirming pickups. Sit at the shipping door within the warehouse to monitor incoming and outgoing freight and serve as a central point of contact for carriers and internal teams. Handle hands-on packaging tasks, including packing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment according to company standards. Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including loading and unloading trucks, staging materials, and organizing stock. Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload pallets and materials throughout the warehouse. Perform general laborer duties when required to support production and warehouse operations. Conduct data entry using Excel to update logs, reports, and inventory records with a high degree of accuracy. Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies. Use warehouse management tools such as RF scanners and WMS systems to track materials and maintain accurate inventory. Assist with order pulling, warehouse packing, and logistics coordination to ensure orders ship on time and in full. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment, to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with production and logistics teams to communicate shipment status, resolve issues, and support a smooth production flow. Perform any other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations and meet production and shipping deadlines. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse or similar environment. Strong forklift operating skills and experience, with the ability to move pallets and materials safely and efficiently. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging, labeling, and documentation. Proficiency using SAP for scheduling, tracking, and receiving deliveries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic reporting. Experience working with FedEx and UPS shipments, including creating labels and coordinating pickups. Knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counts and inventory reconciliation. Ability to use warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory tracking. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-based environment with frequent communication and coordination. Capability to perform physical warehouse tasks, including lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods. Reliable attendance and the ability to work the required first-shift hours. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with warehouse inventory and inventory control processes. Background in logistics, shipping and receiving, and warehouse packing. Experience with order pulling and material handling in a manufacturing environment. Comfort working in both edible and non-edible product environments, such as food-related seasonings and essential oils. Ability to move between multiple facilities as needed to support operations. Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, logistics, and other warehouse team members. Work Environment The role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing company that produces flavors for oils and other substances, including both edible and non-edible products. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with frequent communication between warehouse and production teams. The position primarily supports the shipping and receiving department, which is a smaller, close-knit team within the broader operation. The schedule follows a first-shift pattern, with a late first-shift opening typically running from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and candidates must be able to work these hours. Work takes place across two nearby facilities, and the specialist may move between locations as needed to support operations. The warehouse uses forklifts, RF scanners, WMS, SAP, and Excel as core tools for material handling and inventory management. The setting is a typical industrial warehouse and production environment, and employees must wear steel-toe footwear and follow all safety protocols while working around manufacturing equipment, packaging areas, and loading docks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
