Job Description

Shipping and Receiving Clerk:
Bluewater Thermal Solutions located in Coldwater, Michigan is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk to join our team! Bluewater Thermal Solutions is a financially stable, well-managed, and steadily growing company that has provided heat-treating services for over thirty-five (35) years. Our three (3)-shift facility operates furnaces 24 hours, 7 days a week to meet and exceed our customer's contractual agreements, including timely delivery. This job role is a member of our shipping and receiving team and it reports to our Plant Manager. Our opportunity could offer the successful candidate the chance to learn shipping procedures such as receiving, shipping, data entry, and material handling. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for the orderly and efficient operation of the shipping function and will while performing his or her duties, conduct him or herself in a mature, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and commercial carriers. In this position, you will have an opportunity for your overall experience to increase, and you will receive high visibility of your contributions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed. Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules. Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc. Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately. Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping. Prepares products for shipment. Maintains safe and efficient use of forklift trucks. Must know truck capacity and how to load a balanced shipment, as well as a working knowledge of proper packing, crates, boxes, skids and banding for all types of shipments. Creates packing slips, BOL's, and travelers for material
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum one year of computer experience and shipping experience.
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to heat, noise, humidity, fumes. Must have basic knowledge by experience or training of math, word processing and computer applications. Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
