Job Description

SUMMARY A
dock clerk signs for deliveries, reports and resolves any distributes to address on label, audits outgoing orders and randomly audits finished parts coming out of packaging department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accepts and signs for deliveries from distributor Assists in loading and unloading shipments. Uses dollies, forklifts, and other moving equipment to transport shipments from loading dock Inspects accuracy of outgoing shipments Assists in returns during idle time for any defective or incorrect items Stores, restocks, and shelves items as necessary Conducts inventory of products Perform audits on completed orders and verify that the product selected matches the order. Reviews completed packaging of finished parts Upon audit completion, ensure corrections are made to any errors discovered on the order being shipped. Communicate the improper picked order of product to appropriate parties so resolution can take place. When chargeable errors are discovered, the auditor will notify the responsible party of their error and obtain their signature as acknowledgement of the audit. Submit daily audit results to the warehouse administration at the end of each shift. Assist in other areas, when deemed necessary. Knowledgeable of and supports Human Resource, Quality and Safety/Environmental policies & practices. Strives for continuous improvement in their area of expertise and job function that results in better cost, quality, or functionality of the products we deliver to our customers Promote good employee relations and high morale Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or GED preferred Demonstrates strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy boxes received by the store Exhibits ability to use inventory software efficiently Has basic math skills Works well with a team Communicates clearly and effectively Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills Handles discrepancies or shipping problems calmly and politely Exhibits familiarity with shipping procedures Manages time efficiently Demonstrates solid problem-solving skills Is capable of operating forklifts and other equipment to move heavy shipments Demonstrates awareness of proper warehouse safety procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Work in a fast paced shipping environment Exposure to heat, loud noise, dust, odors, dirt/dust and fumes Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, reach, and grasp Frequently lift and lower up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds Frequently carry up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds
