Job Description

Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a position for a Senior Shipping Associate . This opportunity is based in Bloomington, MN, with no specific mention of hybrid or remote options. The role is a contract position lasting 12-24 months, with the possibility of going direct. The pay rate is $23.86 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and at least 2 years of relevant experience. A U.S. security clearance is not required for this role. The work schedule is on the first shift. In this role, you will use your shipping and logistics skills to: Perform manual and clerical shipping duties in support of production and operations Determine appropriate carriers, shipping methods, and delivery routes Prepare shipping documentation, labels, and required paperwork for outgoing shipments Process, route, track, and monitor shipments using internal computer systems Coordinate movement of materials with purchasing, production, engineering, and logistics teams Follow shipping procedures and compliance requirements, including classified material handling processes Support inventory movement and material flow activities Operate forklifts or other power industrial vehicles when required Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and shipment preparation Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping and warehouse operations Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation or AI-supported process improvements
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of related shipping, warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience . Certification in assigned area is preferred, if applicable.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience supporting: Shipping and receiving operations Warehouse or logistics activities Material movement and shipment tracking Ability to: Prepare shipping documentation Process outgoing shipments Coordinate shipping activities across departments Familiarity with: Shipping procedures Carrier coordination Classified material handling processes Ability to lift heavy materials and operate forklifts or power industrial vehicles Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills Customer service mindset with strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or production environments Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience Experience handling classified or regulated shipments Continuous improvement or process optimization experience
Clearance Requirements:
Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within the facility, U.S. Citizenship is required .
