Job Description

Job Overview The LTL Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for coordinating, processing, and handling inbound and outbound freight shipments. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper handling of goods, and timely communication with carriers, drivers, and internal teams. Duties Receive, inspect, and verify incoming LTL shipments against bills of lading (BOLs) and packing slips Prepare and schedule outbound LTL shipments with approved carriers Accurately complete shipping documentation, including BOLs, labels, and manifests Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment Ensure proper packaging, palletizing, and labeling to prevent damage during transit Coordinate pickup and delivery times with carriers and internal departments Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving and shipping procedures Report damages, shortages, or discrepancies and follow claims procedures when needed Keep shipping/receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Use warehouse management systems (WMS) or shipping software to track shipments
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred Experience with LTL freight procedures and documentation is a plus Ability to operate forklifts (certification preferred or willingness to obtain) Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of LTL carrier processes and freight classification Good communication and coordination skills Problem-solving ability for shipment discrepancies Time management and multitasking Safety awareness and compliance
Work Environment:
Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and equipment operation Interaction with drivers, carriers, and warehouse staff

From $15.00 per hour
