Job Description

Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations through a combination of clerical, shipping, receiving, and operator duties. This position prepares and processes documentation related to shipping, receiving, storage, and warehousing while also performing hands-on warehouse tasks as needed to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. The employee will become familiar with shipping, receiving, inventory control, storage, and warehouse procedures, and will assist with loading, unloading, picking, packing, transferring, and relabeling products as needed. Duties and Responsibilities Processes work orders, shipping paperwork, and inventory changes accurately and timely. Prints and prepares pick sheets, labels, bills of lading, and related shipping documents. Checks orders for accuracy and completeness before release. Answers incoming calls and assists customers or internal staff with shipment-related questions. Responds to a high volume of daily communications and maintains professional communication skills. Loads and unloads trucks using forklifts and other warehouse equipment as trained. Picks, packs, transfers, repacks, and relabels materials, including chemicals, in accordance with company procedures. Assists with cycle counts and inventory control activities. Maintains organized work areas, proper stocking levels, and a clean warehouse environment. Follows standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable regulations. Wears required personal protective equipment and follows all safety instructions. Inspects completed work for accuracy and resolves inconsistencies when found. Cross-trains and fills in for other warehouse personnel as needed to support shipping deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in using a computer for clerical tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in an organized manner with strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a team environment and support multiple functions. Must be able to operate warehouse equipment as trained, including forklifts if applicable. Valid driver's license preferred or required, depending on company need. Experience in warehousing, inventory control, production, or a regulated chemical, food, pharma, or cGMP environment is helpful. Physical and Work Requirements Must be able to lift, move, and handle materials as required for warehouse operations. Must be able to work in a warehouse environment and safely perform both office and physical tasks. Must be able to follow safety rules, wear PPE, and comply with company and regulatory requirements. Preferred Traits Strong sense of urgency. Dependable and detail oriented. Able to transition between clerical and warehouse responsibilities throughout the day. Team-oriented with a willingness to cross-train and support other departments.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
