Role:
The Lead Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in managing the efficient flow of inventory through a warehouse. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. This person will supervise employees who handle products. The Lead Shipping and Receiving Clerk coordinates with various departments, carriers, and vendors to facilitate smooth logistics and inventory management. This role also involves supervising and training team members to maintain high standards of productivity and quality. Ultimately, the Lead Shipper/Receiver ensures that all shipments are processed correctly and that inventory records are accurate, supporting overall supply chain effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Oversees all orders are received in a timely manner. Restocking and filling orders for customers and technicians. Receive purchase orders and follow up on orders placed. Shipping out UPS and FTL freight. Press tires. Receive stock orders, ground, and overnight orders both electronically and manually. Clean and maintain parts department and warehouse areas. Van replenishment. Assist Parts Administrator with short ships and damaged goods. Works with parts department on warranty/core/regular returns. Assist with supervising daily workflow of shipping and receiving employees. Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits. Lead warehouse organization and shelving projects to improve efficiency and storage capacity. Maintain proper labeling and location management for all inventory. Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, process concerns, and operational improvements. Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and documented properly. Train and support new employees on warehouse procedures and safety practices. Coordinate with technicians, dispatch, and parts staff to prioritize urgent orders. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are followed. Assist management with process improvement initiatives and department goals. Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Assist in maintaining proper core return and warranty procedures. Ensure timely completion of daily warehouse tasks and assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Computer skills: internet, e-mail One-year prior experience in shipping and receiving Forklift experience a plus Good written and verbal communication Computer literate with e-mail, internet searches and basic data input Knowledgeable about UPS and PO's, Bill of lading, etc. Detail oriented Able to lift 50 pounds Why MHS Lift?
