Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipping Associate fills a vital role as a team member of our company. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Some weekends may be required during the last quarter of the year. Attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are key components for success in this position. Upper body agility/strength and the ability to stand while working is required. The overall objective is to accurately pick, pack, and label the product that will be shipped or staged for shipping.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery. b) Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain those quantities; destination, and routing are correct. c) Operate dolly or pallet jack in loading and unloading supplies and equipment. d) Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. e) Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety. f) Train seasonal employees. g) Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
a) High School Diploma b) Ability to perform simple arithmetic c) Ability to read and write English language d) Strong computer skills e) Strong communication skills f) Detail oriented g) Dependable, reliable attendance h) Ability to bend, stoop, twist, stretch, lift objects overhead, ascend and descend stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand and/or walk for more than 7 hours per day. i) Ability to operate a dolly or pallet jack j) Eager to work in a team related atmosphere
