Full Job Description Job Summary:
The main responsibility of the Receiving Specialist is to manage receiving of incoming products. This person will also support the shipping and returns departments. Ensures all deliveries are received according to the purchase order and distributed to the appropriate location. Participate in maintaining accurate and orderly inventory of goods received.

Essential Job Functions:
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. Keeps dock clear and ready for incoming shipments Wraps and prepares intercompany transfers Unloads trucks as they arrive (FedEx, UPS, LTL, etc.) Ensures that staff handles all orders as quickly as possible with product received the same day of delivery Inspects inbound shipments; accept or reject goods received. Checks paperwork for accuracy. Resolves any discrepancies immediately (weight, quality, or purchase order nonconformities) Completes and forwards discrepancy reports to the appropriate people same day of delivery Forwards packing slips to the appropriate people daily Communicates operational issues to shift supervisors as needed Inputs all freight into system same day as received Delivers shipments to receivers Collaborates with Purchasing and Accounting departments Provides daily updates to manager regarding receiving issues; provides suggestions for improvements. Marks inventory codes on goods, using proper labeling tents Maintains work area and equipment in good and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations Assists raw materials with loading scrap trailer, gaylords, organizing stock, fronting stock, wrapping stock and labeling cards
Qualifications:
Problem-solving abilities Good communication and people skills Ability to interact with all levels and types of personalities Ability to multitask Strong attention to detail Adequate computer skills Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis Ability to pass a basic math and reading comprehension test 1-3 years of warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving. Experience with forklift and pallet jack

The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds frequently and up to fifty pounds occasionally. Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
