Full Job Description Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of receiving, shipping and inventory related tasks. This role verifies that incoming materials match purchase orders, routes received items to the appropriate departments or locations and prepares outgoing shipments using designated carrier services. Main Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming materials. Compare packing slips with purchase orders to verify shipment accuracy, using inventory management software. Sort, count, label, unpack, and log received inventory. Perform quality inspections on select incoming materials. Unpack materials and route items to the appropriate departments. Operate dollies, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts to load and unload supplies. Maintain and file all shipping and receiving records appropriately and in a timely manner. Organize the distribution and shipment of merchandise. Process customer return shipments as needed. Assemble containers and crates for shipment. Pack goods securely and prepare required documentation. Maintain the Bill of Lading — BOL — database, filing, and storage processes. Work with carriers, movers, vendors, and contractors as required. Coordinate with various departments regarding inbound and outbound shipments, documentation, and material movement. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of directly related experience preferred. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to receive, track, deliver, and distribute goods, materials, supplies, and equipment. Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers accurately. Ability to identify problems and report information to the appropriate personnel. Must be able to handle standing and/or walking more than 4 hours per day, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds. The estimated annualized base salary range for this role is $55,000-$60,000. Compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
