Job Description
JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Shipping Associate 1 is responsible for the accurate handling, packing, labeling, and inventory management of finished goods. This role ensures all customer orders are prepared to specification, maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting, and manages packaging supplies required to support shipping operations. This position will also utilize a company box van to transport products to customer sites.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to: Prepare, pack, and process finished goods orders for shipment in an organized and timely manner Ensure all products are properly labeled, tagged, and packaged in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements Stock finished goods inventory when items are not immediately shipped Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the supervisor promptly Operate shipping equipment and systems safely and effectively Maintain inventory levels of packaging materials, supplies, tools, and equipment Perform cycle counts of finished goods and report discrepancies for resolution Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and finished goods storage areas Follow all company safety and security procedures and perform work in a safe manner Support other departments and production areas as assigned Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall performance Support customer deliveries through use of a company box van. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Effective communication skills Ability to learn and apply product/part identification processesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred Experience with domestic and international shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL) Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes Understanding of HTS codes, ECC codes, and international shipping requirements preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Experience with shipment tracking, reporting, and month-end activities preferredPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions.
