Delivery Receiver/Utility

reat Schedule!!! Monday thru Friday 6:00 am 2:30 pm Full Time!!! Private school in Dobbs Ferry seeks an experienced Receiver. This site has multiple daily deliveries of produce, frozen and dry goods, dairy products and assorted other items. Package totals per delivery range between 40 and 100+ items. This position requires a candidate with strong organizational skills , communication and reading/math comprehension skill. Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving. They must log invoices, and distribute to appropriate areas i.e. dry storage, refrigerators and freezers. The receiver must manage inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to Supervisor. Receivers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age. High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Comprehend written invoices, simple arithmetic and verify numbers. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods. Duties and Responsibilities Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip. Sorts, counts packages, inspects labels, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel. Delivers items to appropriate locations, i.e. dry storage, refrigerator and freezer. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. Assist in ordering function by communicating par levels to Supervisor. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
