Full Job Description Description:
The Marine Shipyard Stockroom Associate is responsible for managing the inventory of materials, tools, and equipment used in shipbuilding and repair operations. This role involves receiving, storing, and distributing supplies, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining an organized stockroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: Demonstrate extensive product knowledge or ability to quickly acquire it. Maintain awareness of current products in stock. Efficiently locate and retrieve parts from the stock room. Distribute parts promptly upon requests from production staff. Ensure timely entry of material checkouts in PierVantage (PV) system. Organize the stockroom to maximize space utilization and streamline material retrieval. Monitor usage and inventory levels of items. Conduct weekly inventory checks and parts counts. Process orders, manage returns, and replenish stock as needed. Collaborate with the production team to determine material needs. Notify appropriate personnel upon material arrivals. Track and maintain tools used in the stock room. Receive goods from package and freight carriers. Inspect incoming goods for damage. Count and verify materials against packing slips; enter data accurately into PierVantage. Transport, deliver, and store materials in the stock room or other designated locations. Submit packing slips, purchase orders, and related invoices to accounts payable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and environmental compliance. Operate forklift within safety guidelines (if applicable). Ability to lift approximately 60 lbs regularly.
