Job Description

Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Lead prepares items for shipment, verifies and maintains shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Examine product shipment or receipts and compare with records such as shipping or receiving requirements, packing slips, invoices, or purchase orders to verify accuracy. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, available inventory space, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record retention purposes. Prepare documents, such as bills of lading and packing slips for outgoing shipments. Communicate with Supply Chain Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Plant General Manager to resolve problems with shipments or receipts, such as damages, shortages, or non-conformances to required specifications. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare items for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
