Job Description:
Job Summary Shipper 1 is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping parts, products, and machinery for customer orders. This role also assists and provides backup support for other team members in Shipping and Receiving. Job Duties Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Pick, pack, and consolidate materials for domestic customer orders. Inspect items to make certain all Job Ticket requirements are met. Fold, staple, and tape corrugated cartons in preparation for packing. Secure large shipments on skids, pallets, or crates. Process ERP transactions, including the capture of product serial numbers. Process shipments using UPS and FEDEX systems. Generate and attach shipping labels, Airway Bills, and Bills of Lading. Operate powered industrial lift trucks (formal qualification is required). Assist carriers in loading their trucks. Monitor and respond to voicemail and email messages daily. Troubleshoot and help resolve shipping issues and customer complaints. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Job Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics preferred. Familiarity with an ERP/MRP system. Familiarity with
UPS & FEDEX
label machines, packing tape dispensers, banders, pallet wrappers, manual & powered hand trucks, forklifts, battery chargers, pneumatic staplers, and protective eyewear preferred. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to communicate clearly with others to exchange information. Ability to follow company safety policies and procedures. Ability to be trained and qualified to operate powered lift trucks. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand instructions in English. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk continuously. Ability to bend, squat, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach. Ability to grasp, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to use computers and telephones and standard equipment. Ability to see clearly at close and long distances, with peripheral vision, and depth perception. ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
