Job Title:
Shipping Specialist Job Description The Shipping Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling and management of stockroom inventory, shipping materials, and supplies. This position involves maintaining organized records, fulfilling material requests, and managing incoming and outgoing shipments with precision. Responsibilities Maintain stockroom inventory database and records. Keep stockroom clean, organized, and clearly identify parts as instructed. Fulfill material issue requests promptly and accurately, delivering requested materials to designated locations. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Receive shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify issues. Route items to appropriate receivers or designated stockroom locations. Assemble shipping containers or boxes and pack items carefully as instructed. Measure, weigh, and count items for outgoing shipments. Prepare packing lists and shipping labels, ensuring correct documentation accompanies shipments. Determine appropriate shipping methods based on system hardware and project requirements. Essential Skills Strong technical proficiency Experience with SAP and ERP systems Attention to detail Materials management Quality inspection Regulatory compliance Experience with material handling equipment Inventory management Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of manufacturability, stocking, packing, picking, sorting, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations Experience in project management, acceptance testing, supplier management, and manufacturing Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
