Quanta Nashville (QMN) was established in 2003 in LaVergne, TN, with 20 employees in one building. QMN currently occupies nine (9) facilities in the Antioch/LaVergne area with over 3000 employees...and GROWING! We are currently seeking candidates for the following position! Forklift driver
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Perform production support functions. Meet the daily production support requirements deadline by efficiently transferring and compiling parts. Complete stocking functions and update systems. Schedule movements both internal to facility and for shipping / receiving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for reading, understanding and following work instructions pertaining to the tasks of picking, transacting, cycle count and inventory. Perform in a cross-functional environment, coordinating with other departments such Quality, Warehouse, and Materials. Pick and prepare parts in an efficient manner, meeting internal incremental deadlines. Build and pack out shipments, assuring proper labeling and documentation. Communicate professionally via email with Program Manager, Department Manager, Supervisor and customer contacts regarding the status of parts and shipments. Coordinate with offsite personnel for cycle count and inventory as necessary. Actively seek ways to improve processes. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience in a warehouse or shipping environment. Forklift driver is required. Good email communication skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer literate in a Windows Environment; Outlook, Excel. Basic math skills. Accurate counting skills. Legible handwriting. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Detail oriented. Good organizational skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Must be self-motivated and possess initiative. Flexible; able to change direction with short notice. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to complete projects under tight deadlines. Able to perform repetitive motion with hands and arms. Qualified to become certified on a forklift. Able to quickly resolve or escalate problems that arise. Effective communicator in the English language, both orally and written, as the position requires email communication with customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Able to stand, stoop and bend. Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods. Able to operate a pallet jack.
