Job Summary:
Bouldin & Lawson LLC is looking to hire a detail-oriented person to be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the flow of materials and information within a production environment, ensuring that schedules are met and inventory levels are maintained. The Equipment Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing equipment shipments. This role ensures that equipment is received in correct condition, properly labeled, and dispatched according to specifications, while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Receiving:
Inspect and verify incoming equipment or parts against purchase orders, ensuring correct type, quantity, size, weight, and condition.
Unloading & Storage:
Safely unload trucks, pallets, and containers; store equipment in designated areas, protecting it from exposure and damage.
Labeling & Documentation:
Apply correct labels, attach required documentation (e.g., certificates of analysis, shipping envelopes), and maintain accurate records.
Shipping Preparation:
Palletize, shrink-wrap, and load equipment for carriers; complete loader checklists and Bills of Lading.
Inventory Management:
Update inventory records, perform stock checks, and report discrepancies promptly.
Coordination:
Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and pickup schedules.
Housekeeping:
Maintain clean, organized warehouse and yard areas; follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Support:
Assist in daily shipping/receiving operations, including staging orders, loading/unloading, and handling heavy equipment.
Required:
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High school diploma or GED; associate degree in a related field preferred.
Pre-Employment Drug Screen Experience:
Minimum 6 months in logistics, warehousing, or equipment handling; manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
Certifications:
Forklift certification within 90 days of hire; familiarity with RF inventory systems is a plus.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, ability to read and follow instructions, physical stamina, and teamwork.
Knowledge:
Understanding of shipping procedures, safety regulations, and equipment handling requirements. Physical Demands & Work Environment Standing, walking, and moving heavy equipment (up to 60 to 100 lbs.). Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Ability to work in varied weather conditions and follow safety protocols. Warehouse and yard areas; may involve lifting, stacking, and moving equipment. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet shipping/receiving schedules
Preferred:
- 1+ years of experience in Material Handling
- Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in data entry, basic math and familiarity with production software or database.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively coordinate with team members and management. Read a bill of materials and identify manufactured parts, sub-assemblies and purchased parts from it. Ability to read a tape measure as well as part prints / routings, and accurately discern between parts. Separate parts by sub assembly / routing and prep for each department. Track and identify red tags, packing slips and plated parts that require extra care or expediting. Separate & sort painted parts and prepare for assembly. Bouldin & Lawson, L.L.C.
