Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our fast-paced warehouse team. Duties Accurately receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and documenting discrepancies using RF scanners and warehouse management systems. Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload trucks, move stock within the warehouse, and prepare items for shipment. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders with precision, ensuring correct items are selected using RF scanners and order picking techniques aligned with e-commerce demands. Manage stock levels by stocking shelves efficiently, conducting cycle counts, and updating inventory records in systems like AS400 or MRP (Material Requirements Planning). Coordinate shipping activities by preparing shipping labels, packaging products securely for transit, and scheduling carrier pickups to meet delivery deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by adhering to safety protocols during load & unload operations and ensuring proper storage of goods. Support warehouse distribution efforts by collaborating with team members on order fulfillment priorities and maintaining accurate inbound/outbound logs. Qualifications Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in shipping & receiving operations. Valid certification for forklift operation; experience with reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers is highly preferred. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar ERP systems like MRP for inventory control. Strong basic math skills for counting stock quantities and calculating measurements during packing or loading processes. Knowledge of e-commerce logistics processes including picking & packing for online orders. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items safely and operating warehouse equipment efficiently.
