POSITION SUMMARY
: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate recordkeeping of incoming and outgoing shipments. The Clerk is also responsible for preparing items for shipment as well as loading and unloading trucks ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
: Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy and ensure proper labeling and loading procedures are followed. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items Keep files of goods shipped and received Maintain a clean and organized shipping area and follow good housekeeping practices. Oversee movement of products between US and Mexico facilities. Track inventory and monitor stock levels of finished products. Communicate with other departments to ensure the availability of products for shipment.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required. 3-5 years of experience in shipping within a manufacturing organization. Experience with shipping and customs requirements of Mexico a plus. Ability to lift items and containers Flexibility to work different hours throughout the week as needed Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills. Knowledge of shipping processes and software. Knowledge of industry regulations. Proficient in Microsoft products (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Similar jobs in Austin, TX
