Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods through accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Your expertise will ensure that orders are fulfilled promptly, stock is accurately maintained, and shipments are handled safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and documenting discrepancies using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS). Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting products through order picking techniques, packing items securely with appropriate packaging materials, and labeling shipments accurately. Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks, move stock within the warehouse, and organize inventory efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory levels by updating stock records in WMS and AS400 systems, conducting regular cycle counts, and assisting with stock replenishment efforts. Ensure compliance with safety standards during all shipping and receiving activities while adhering to company policies for load securing and proper handling procedures. Support order fulfillment processes by picking orders using RF scanners or manual methods, packing items for shipment, and preparing orders for dispatch in a timely manner. Assist with warehouse organization by stocking shelves, consolidating inventory locations, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures. Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely; forklift certification is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and basic math skills for inventory calculations. Experience with order picking & packing for e-commerce or distribution centers; familiarity with MRPs (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and stand for extended periods; good physical stamina is essential. Basic understanding of safety protocols related to load securing, equipment operation, and warehouse hygiene.
