Job Description
Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Technician is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for the accurate, timely flow of materials into and out of the warehouse. This position supports operational continuity by ensuring shipment accuracy, inventory integrity, safe material handling, and effective coordination with carriers, purchasing, and internal teams.Responsibilities:
Shipping- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments in accordance with customer and carrier requirements.
- Coordinate daily outbound shipments across parcel, LTL, and FTL carriers.
- Generate bills of landing, packing lists, and related shipping documentation.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy, including quantity, part number, and condition.
- Schedule pickups and monitor shipment status to support on-time delivery. Receiving
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for accuracy, completeness, and visible damage.
- Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter received goods accurately into the ERP or inventory management system.
- Escalate discrepancies, shortages, and damage issues to purchasing or management promptly.
- Label and store materials in designated locations to support traceability and access. Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Organize warehouse space to promote safe, efficient material flow and storage utilization.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Support production and operations teams through timely movement and staging of materials.
- Assist in picking as need it
- Provide shipping support for secondary warehouse operations as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required 1-3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferred Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus Skills & Abilities- Basic computer proficiency; experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, packing slips, and purchase orders.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use tape measures and perform basic dimensional verification.
- Experience operating forklifts up to 15K capacity preferred.
- Experience operating a stand-up truck is preferred.
- Experience operating an overhead crane preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely; forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hourBenefits:
