Prior warehouse experience is required Hands-on scanning experience required: Comfort with handheld or RF barcode scanners for receiving, put-away, and inventory tasks Work ethic and dependability: Reliable attendance and punctuality — this is a team environment where each person on the floor is counted on to show up and perform Physical capability: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move materials throughout an active warehouse environment for the duration of a shift Process adherence: Comfort following established procedures for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping in a fast-moving operation Forklift certified: Forklift certification or prior forklift operation experience — certification is preferred and would set you apart, though not required to apply Nice toHave:
Manufacturing or distribution background: Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment rather than retail or small-format storage Computer comfort: Basic computer literacy for logging activity, pulling orders, or communicating with the team Familiarity with inventory systems: Any prior experience with ERP or inventory management systems (SAP training will be provided once hired full-time) The Opportunity Our client, a high-growth manufacturing and distribution company in the Greater Austin area, is adding a Materials Handler Associate to their warehouse operations team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a hands-on, floor-level role on a small, tight-knit team of 10 to 12 associates where the work is visible and the people who bring consistent effort and a good attitude get noticed. The company is in an exciting growth phase, with expanded facilities and a major new production line on the horizon. That growth creates real opportunity for the right person. An upcoming internal promotion is expected to open a path forward, and leadership has a track record of advancing associates who demonstrate reliability and initiative. This is not a dead-end warehouse job; it is a starting point for someone who wants to grow with a company that is building something.What You'll DO:
Receiving and Put-Away:
Unload inbound shipments and verify contents against packing lists and purchase orders Scan incoming items and ensure accurate entry into the inventory system Transport and store materials in designated locations according to warehouse layout and proceduresInventory Management:
Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory procedures to maintain accuracy Flag discrepancies between physical counts and system records and escalate appropriately Keep storage areas organized and properly labeledPicking, Packing, and Shipping:
Pull orders accurately from warehouse locations using pick lists or scanner-guided workflows Pack finished goods according to established standards for outbound shipments across multiple channels, including Amazon FBA, wholesale, and direct-to-consumer Support dock operations, including coordinating outbound shipments with carriersSafety and General Operations:
Operate within established safety protocols and report any hazards or near-misses promptly Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times Support cross-functional tasks as needed in a small-team environment where flexibility is valued Why This Role Our client operates a large-scale warehouse and distribution facility in Georgetown, Texas, handling thousands of SKUs across premium retail, commercial foodservice, and e-commerce channels.
