DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the overall operation of shipping and receiving merchandise and assures that merchandise reaches the designated department. Responsibility includes monitoring and maintaining inventory of the central supply room. Responsible for distributing all mail received by the Center into the designated filing system. Position requires independent work or working in a group setting.
SUPERVISION
Directly supervised by the Supply Chain Manager.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting, stooping, bending and filing on a regular basis. Position may require moving up to 25 pounds. Individual is required to use office equipment, such as a computer terminals, telephone, calculator, copiers and fax machine, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives and logs in all merchandise received. Verifies merchandise received against purchase order and reports discrepancies to the purchasing clerk. Maintains inventory in central supply room and price out merchandise. Assist medical staff in ordering supplies for central supply room. Arranges for delivery of merchandise ordered by department and site. Notifies the Fiscal Office when merchandise/equipment needs to be tagged for inventory. Assists with monthly/yearly inventory of supplies and equipment. Responsible for return shipments. Performs other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Serves as courier to neighborhood centers or other agencies. Perform the delivery tasks and pick-up of material in a polite, resourceful and professional manner. Load and unload a Center vehicle through a variety of mechanisms. Coordinate of incoming and outgoing interoffice mail. Communicate with clinics through a mobile device. Operate vehicle for the delivery of interoffice mail, supplies, products and materials. Maintain the commitment of delivering and picking up documents/materials along with providing exceptional customer service Accountable for timely sensitive information to be delivered to center or other agencies in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited high school or GED program. Two-year college, business or technical school plus two years' experience in this field. Must have current Texas driver's license in good standing. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of acceptable office procedures and bookkeeping. Ability to perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy. Must have initiative and work well alone and under supervision. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
