The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with management, excel in customer service skills, and work well independently. This position will be responsible for unloading incoming trailers and route material to appropriate locations. This includes maintenance items and UPS/LTL deliveries. Verify and document materials received in SAP computer programs or by manually generating paperwork for accounting purposes. Obtain a Certificate of Analysis on all raw materials delivered and inspect all raw materials. Unload returns from branches and customers and unload material from vendors and deliver to appropriate departments. This position will work in a production/warehouse environment and is exposed to temperature changes. Operates a forklift in congested confined area where other forklifts are operating and other employees are working and walking. This position requires lifting and pulling of heavy packages and driving forklift. Position requires daily communication between various department personnel, plant management and vendors as to the status of unloading and receiving process. Responsible for verifying the count on all items received.
Minimum Qualifications:
a: Read and interpret a tape measure.
b:
Must obtain a Carpenter Company Forklift Certification prior to operating a forklift.
c:
Basic Reading, Writing and Math skills are necessary.
d:
Must have some computer experience and be able to use a computer in day to day operations.
e:
Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
f:
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
g:
Must be able to go through hazard waste handling training h: High School Diploma or GED.
Other Essential Functions:
Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment. Recharge forklift batteries as instructed. Understanding of the Carpenter Company Safe Stacking Policy and recognition of Prohibited and Restricted area requirements. Must be able to drive a forklift in reverse transporting finished and/or unfinished product to a specific location. Must be able to operate a forklift in confined areas and where employees are working an walking. Must operate a forklift in compliance with all safety rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned by management.
