Job Description
•This is a part-time, summer seasonal position that will run from June to September•Work hours: Tuesday - Friday, 9:00am - 3:30pm If you're passionate about aviation and want to be part of an incredible team, consider joining The Museum of Flight's Store as our Seasonal Receiving Staff Member. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring that our guests find products they love. From pricing and organizing stock to assisting with shipments, you'll contribute to the smooth operation of our store. Plus, you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of flight while gaining valuable retail experience. Summary The Shipping and Receiving Associate supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by performing all shipping and receiving activities for the store and online retail orders. This position maintains the retail stockroom, as well as prepares inventory for the retail sales floor. This position allocates incoming shipments to the appropriate floor and storage locations. Additionally, may provide first level customer service and supports the inventory control activities, when applicable. Confirm existing barcodes and enter barcodes for new products, price merchandise and prepare products for retail areas and sales floor. Prepare all merchandise returns for credit or exchange.
Shipping:
process retail orders for The Museum of Flight Store, web store, and other shipments for The Museum of Flight, including international shipping. Organize, clean, and maintain retail stock areas including consolidating and organizing spaces for overstock and incoming items, clear labeling, and maintaining a safe work environment by keeping aisles and hallways clear and clutter free. Assist store staff in maintaining appropriate stock levels on the floor and in the backroom. Pull and stock weekly transfers for all store area operations. Respond to customer correspondence and calls regarding shipments, returns, and exchanges as assigned. Assist with monthly cycle counts for store inventory and update inventory bin numbers. Assist the supervisor in monitoring the availability of website items and updating product availability when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a retail or customer service-oriented setting. Strong preference for at least one year of retail shipping and receiving experience. Knowledge Knowledge in inventory control and check & balance procedures relating to store inventory. Skills Demonstrated customer service skills within a diverse population. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and Outlook. Abilities Ability to work efficiently to complete tasks and projects with little to no direct supervision. Detail oriented, including timely and effective decision making. Willingness and ability to learn database software or computer programs. Must be able to lift up to properly lift 50 pounds with or without assistance. This position requires use of stairs, repetitive wrist and arm movement; grabbing, reaching, pulling, overhead activities, working from ladders and step stools. The ability to bend, carry, reach to the side, front and overhead, push, pull, focus, walk, stand, twist and squat are frequent requirements for this position.
